Special Open House celebrates 40 years of NDC

Updated: Dec 18, 2022

September is a special time for the Neighborhood Design Center. As summer projects wrap up and new interns join the team, NDC takes time to showcase the communities and people it impacts through its Annual Open House. This past September had even more cause for celebration as NDC welcomed partners, community members, and friends to commemorate 40 years of providing quality design services in Columbus and Central Ohio.

As Summer ended we took advantage of the good weather to welcome our guests and celebrate during our 2022 Open House

As a nonprofit, NDC’s work has been guided by a commitment to engage, elevate, and empower communities through an array of planning and design services that put people first. Our approach relies on direct engagement with residents, local organizations, small businesses, and neighborhoods to envision more vibrant, equitable, and diverse places and spaces to live, work, and enjoy. We are grateful for the opportunity to spotlight some of the creative projects of the past year.

As part of the celebration, we honored partners with two new awards The Legacy Award, which recognizes longstanding and exceptional commitment to the growth and impact of NDC’s mission, while The Champion’s Award recognizes partners and funders who support programs that further our mission and vision. Our inaugural honorees include Keith Myers (Legacy), The City of Columbus (Champions), and The Ohio State University (Champions).

We also would like to thank Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther, the Columbus City Council, and Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano, for acknowledging the impact of NDC in the city and region since 1982, and all our friends, partners, and community members for celebrating with us. How wonderful it is to gather so many community leaders and changemakers with a shared vision of better and stronger neighborhoods .for all.
