Envision Hilltop Plan Release Brings Neighbors Together

On January 14, Hilltop neighbors and community members gathered at the Glenwood Community Center to hear the 27-point plan to stabilize the neighborhood. With remarks from Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther, the event was the capstone to an 18-month public planning process that hosted 15 meetings to gain extensive knowledge and insight from Hilltop neighbors.

Around 150 people gathered to hear the detailed goals and recommendations of the 196-page document. Nick Bankston, Project Manager of Neighborhood Transformation Strategies in the city’s Department of Neighborhoods, led the presentation of the plan—with help from Matthew Adair, NDC’s Senior Planner. After the presentation, attendees were invited to browse copies of the plan and explore a series of posters featuring each action step and previous event results.

Now that the planning process is complete the the document is finalized, the implementation of the plan will be a top priority. The city will work with partners to make progress in the near future.
