NDC Intern Spotlight

Updated: Jan 29, 2021

Interns play a pivotal role at the NDC, engaging with small businesses and communities, developing professional skills and utilizing knowledge gained in the classroom to tackle challenging situations. Hear more about the intern experience from current planning intern, Annalise Bennett, and former landscape architecture intern, Paityn Monagan.

Annalise Bennett

Annalise Bennett started with NDC in 2018 as an intern working primarily on the Hilltop Community Plan. A native of Shaker Heights, Annalise graduated with a masters degree in City and Regional Planning in May 2020. Her main interest is in equity planning, which involves creating policies and redistributing resources in order to put residents on a level playing field, ensuring that everyone has access to the same opportunities and the ability to thrive, regardless of socioeconomic status.

She now lives in the University District and likes to spend her free time reading, playing video games, and cuddling with her cats. This summer she started working for the U.S. Census Bureau as an enumerator, a critical role that helps ensure the accuracy of the Constitutionally-mandated decennial count.

Paityn Monagan

Paityn studied Landscape Architecture at The Ohio State University, graduating in May 2020. With her passion for using her design skills to better the lives of people in communities around Columbus, she assisted on a variety of projects while working at NDC.

In her free time, Paityn enjoys drawing, eating ice cream, and watching movies. She is now a Landscape Designer at Environmental Planning & Design, a Pittsburgh firm established in 1939.
